The one off skateboard printing has been around for quite some time. We helped pioneer the new way of applying graphics to skateboards. When the invention of a heat transfer machine came out it sent waves through the skateboarding industry. When everybody was so used to the conventional silk screening on skateboards it was like a shock to the system. We were afraid of it too. Adding so much pressure to a skateboard after it has already been formed sounded like a bad idea. Avoiding it for a few years was hard and when one big customer suggest it we decided it was time. From the start we manufacturer our own heat transfer process. Doing a screen print on the transfer material this required the same setup cost of making screens with wooden frames and burning the image into the emulsion. This took the same amount of labor to set up but printing on a flat surface was way better then printing on a bent skateboard. With a few customers wanting to get one with their graphic we had to charge a arm and a leg to print just one close to 300 dollars. This gave us a idea to make a digital heat transfer and after a while of trial and error we had successfully mastered it. Yea we did a few transfers using regular paper and it worked but not a quality product. You cant have a paper peal off a skateboard. So with ink from a digital printer and backing it up with a solid protective layer of paint it was a hit. Single board production had taken a turn and others were following us trying to keep up. With over 10 years of making a digital heat transfer we like to think we have been changing the industry for the better. This gives you the consumer to see a finished quality product without the set up cost. Yea it takes a bit more coordination to make just one graphic for one skateboard and have to charge accordingly. We do keep the lowest cost of one off skateboards only because we are a ground up skateboard manufacturer. While our competition will buy imported decks and apply a graphic we believe in supporting you with quality USA made decks that we can stand behind because we made it from the gourd up.
